One of the reasons why wearing leather pants isn't the best option when it's freezing outside is their lack of isolation. In other words: they are as cold as hell. But when I received these pants, one of the first things I noticed was their lining. The entire inside's made of a thick and furry fabric, so they ensure you won't get cold legs when you're wearing them. I combined them with a top I recently purchased. I totally love it, because of its combination of glamour (the sequins), minimalism (the cut), and so called edginess (the shoulder pads). I definitely need more tops like this in my life.

It was my nineteenth birthday yesterday, and I had an amazing day. A birthday is a perfect opportunity to wear a sequined dress, so it was the first time I wore mine. It's from AX Paris and it's puffed sleeves are so cute. I'll try to show it in an outfitpost soon!

Before we left home, my brother gave me his present. I'm so happy that these Converse shoes are mine now! They are the first sneakers in my shoe collection (since a long time) and I'm totally in love with them. I've never owned a pair of All Stars before, but I recently became obsessed with them. I conceived so many ways to style them, and I'm really excited about these plans because I like trying something different than I usually do. I'm sure they'll look great in the outfits I've got in mind!

I wanted to show you two of my new perfumes before, but I didn't so here they are. They were Christmas presents from my daddy (Midnight rain by La Prairie) and mom (Candy by Prada). They smell so heavenly... I wish your computer had smell sensors, haha.

And we already arrived at the last favorite of today! It's just as the previous two a relatively old picture (I also made it the day before Christmas). At that time, I already tweeted about my shopping spree to celebrate the first day of my vacation and this Dior mascara was one of my purchases. It's the one with the self-rotating brush, and I have to confess I feel really sci-fi when using it.

The time has come: It's my nineteenth birthday tomorrow! Sounds old, don't you think? ;-) To end the age of eighteen properly, I chose a cosmic-printed top in combination with a burnt orange cardigan and leather trimmed leggings. I think the black wedges are the best choice when it comes to shoes to wear in combination with cosmic printed clothes. They just create such a futuristic atmosphere when styled together. I hope you don't get bored by the bun I constantly have got on my head lately. I simply like the look ánd the comfort it gives, especially when it's stormy and rainy outside.

Do you know the feeling that you want to wear something no matter whether it's appropriate to the weather or not? It's the case with me and the rosary top I wore today. Actually it was way too cold to wear it on this cold and rainy day in January, but you know what they say: no pain, no gain. The top strongly reminds me of Dior. I always associate Dior with mystery, drama, and seduction, and this rosary sweater perfectly suits these concepts. I styled it in a more romantic way, but I honestly can't wait to wear it in a real mysterious/dramatic combination next time (preferable with smokey eyes and dark red lipstick for a night out or something like that).

People say you can hardly go wrong with black and white. In my case, I guess it's true. I really like black-white ensembles, especially when it's foggy and/or rainy outside. To avoid looking like a checkerboard, I chose printed leggings instead of just plain pants. Actually, I have to confess this was not the main reason for chosing to wear these leggings (I just thought it fits the story so well haha). The main reason was that I want to wear them as much as possible in winter, because they are my favorite leggings ever (for obvious reasons. I mean, look at them!). Even though I usually don't buy a piece of clothing in different colors, I also own these leggings in navy-black. I can't help it, I just can't get enough of them!

Breaking the rules

I've always been the type of child that's calling "I want to move abroad when I grow up!". I guess it's one of my biggest dreams to have minimized rainfall all over the time. Hence, I thought it was the perfect winter day last Sunday. We went to a little beach, and all I could do was smiling. The cold was offset by the sun, people were walking their dogs everywhere in the park around this beach, and the sky was clear and bright blue. I wore an outfit that's characterized by the fact it breaks an important rule of fashion (for so far there are any rules in the art of fashion): the use of burgundy and red in one and the same look. I doubted about it briefly, but then I knew for sure: I don't follow certain fashion rules. I think the best thing about dressing yourself is the fact everything is possible. You can create anything exactly like you want it to be, so that the look perfectly reflects your personality. No rules can make me stop from wearing the things I like: fashion is about creativity, so I break the rules!

My mother's oversized cardigan is one of the warmest cardigans I've ever worn. I lend it more often, even though it's terrible to wear underneath a coat because of it's sleeves. This weekend, I decided to combine it with only knitted items (exept the leather bag and the leather boots), like the cable knit tights, the pearl top, and the grey knitted shorts. I really like the youthful look of the outfit. For some reason, I think it matches my recent desire to watch Disney movies and to visit Disney World in Paris so well! ;-)

I love burgundy shades. I think they are très chic, and I discovered they look even better in combination with beige and light brown. The dress I wore today is way too cute, and even though it's not the best choice when taking into account the temperature at the moment, I felt so happy in it because it's simply a great piece of clothing. I added some leather (the Tommy Hilfiger bag & belt) and suede (the boots) to the look to satisfy my craving for the use of different fabrics when styling an outfit, and to dot the i's and cross the t's: I made a bun on top of my head and tied a cute scarf around my wrist. An outfit perfect for an innocent soul, don't you think? ;-)

I was in doubt for a few seconds when I pulled this outfit on, because I was afraid I looked like a bee as result of the color combination. However, I decided I was not looking like a bee (and if so, I didn't care) and so it came I went out with this black-yellow outfit. It's just a simple casual look, but it was worth trying these items together because I love to try new color combinations (I've never worn black and yellow/mustard together because of bee problem). Blue used to be my favorite color by far when I was younger. My preference for colors changed when time passed, but I still feel very attracted to my electric blue JC boots. To make this shade of blue look extra chic, I combined it with only black items to create a duotone outfit. I always think duotone outfits look a bit futuristic, and that's something I really like from time to time.

I don't think the best sources of inspiration for creating outfits are people on the street, fashion blogs, and magazines. Don't get me wrong: I do believe that they are wonderful sources to get new ideas for outfits and they are very inspiring indeed (and I love to look at other blogs, streetstyle, and fashion magazines). But I personally get my inspiration of life experiences most of the time. These experiences could be from various kinds, but my experience today is a great example: I went to the zoo with my daddy. We had an amazing time there, and I saw true miracles. I tried to capture them with my camera, and I hope you'll love my selection of pictures just like I do.

My mother and I had a wonderful day last Friday. We left home early to start our shopping day at the PC Hooftstraat in Amsterdam. It's a great (probably the best) shopping street for luxury brands in Amsterdam. I bought so many amazing items at the Tommy Hilfiger store, and I can't wait to show them to you! I'll post my first outfit with some of the items tomorrow, but for now just a sneak preview of my new wintercoat, two wool scarves, burgundy cowleather bag, dark red leather belt, and leather wallet. American charm

I've never been in The United States before but going there is one of the things standing on top of my "I want to do list". My desire to go there is probably one of the reasons why my new sweater attracts me that much. I wore it in combination with my DIY clutch and black lace shorts (the nonchalant side of the look) and my red coat (the elegant side of the look) yesterday. Though it's storming right now, the sun shone yesterday and while driving along the airport I suddenly got tremendous sense in summer. I've got a feeling it will be the best summer EVER! But let it be a dry, cold winter right now, because I just bought myself a new Tommy Hilfiger winter coat and I can't wait to wear it as much as possible (I'll show it to you tomorrow).

I was finally able to watch Twilight Breaking Dawn part one in cinema yesterday evening. I totally adored the movie (as expected) and can't wait to see the last part of the saga. What did I wear? I wore red pants, a hairy cardigan, a white printed t-shirt, my beloved ankle boots, and a quilted chain bag. Altogether it was a very comfortable outfit, but I truly felt like a rockstar haha.

Winter knit leggings

First things first, I got my driver's license today! Probably not the most interesting story for you to hear, but I can't keep it silent because I'm so happy. A big yaaaayyy for today.

Then about the outfit I wore yesterday. It's a typical winter outfit, with the winter knit leggings from Late Manta as source of inspiration. I already received them last week, but it was the first time I wore them outside. When I put them on, the first (very pleasant) thing I noticed was that they are tremendeously warm. The fabric they're made of is so soft and it was a delight to wear them around my legs. Did you have a wonderful Christmas? I did, and I got such amazing gifts. There were more gifts than I could ever wish for, and I'll definitely show them to you in one of the upcoming blogposts! My brother gave me an a-ma-zing yellow leather cowboys bag, and I took it right with me when visiting my grandpa. The rest of the outfit for the first day of Christmas consisted of the items I bought myself last Friday: A knitted boys sweater (the cut and length is much better than those of woman sweaters), a asymmetric sheer shirt and grey leggings. I cut my tights to use them as socks in my leather ankle boots, and to complete the look I curled my hair.

Blue monsters

It was the perfect day today. I passed my last exam of this year yesterday, and I decided to celebrate it with an early Friday morning shopping session. I bought myself such nice things and I truly feel euphoric when looking at my acquisitions. It was the first time I took my new blue monsters outside. I think they are fantastic, and I love the fact they are sooooo eyecatching because of their amazing shade of blue. The bag is from the vintage section of Shoppalu, and it's not the only item of the outfit that's aged: I found the navy turtleneck yesterday when I restructured my closet. I haven't worn it for years but I think it's time to wear it again now. Oh, and what do you think of the scarf (available here)? It's a combination of different colors (the color of the bag, the shoes, the socks, and the top among others) and in my opinion, it's a must have to survive the winter cold!

See-through ombre sweater

Ombre hair has been totally hot this year. Actually, I think some people did a really good job when applying this hairtrend to themselves. I've never dyed my hair before and I'm not planning to do it in the future, so I chose an ombre sweater (available here) instead of ombre hair. It's a grey see-through one and even though the look you see me wearing in the pictures below isn't a really good option for braving the cold we're facing at the moment, it's a really good option for an evening or night out. I've got a million ideas to style this sweater in both winter and summer outfits, and I can't wait for you to follow me and my new ombre friend in our journey through the seasons!

The countdown has begun: There's just one week left before the holidays start! I saw the first snowflakes today (even though they were gone after five minutes), and they make me even more hoping for a white Christmas! Are you already in the Christmas mood?

These pictures were taken yesterday afternoon, when it wasn't raining for a little while. It was the first day I took my new booties (available here) out for a walk, and I couldn't be more excited. They are so comfortable! I styled them with other brown/orange shaded items, including my most beloved leather bag and brown leather shorts which somehow remind me of Peter Pan's shorts (I guess its because the back looks very funny). Even though I had - let's say - ten minutes to make it, I tried to create a refined romantic hairstyle to finish the look. I hope you like it!

Wow, I almost can't believe I wore this look four days ago. Time flies! Recently, I totally love styling outfits consistent with my ideas about the time of the year. That's why you see lots of sequins, golden items, and sparkles on the blog lately. This is no different this time, but I added another element appropriate to the holidays to the look: mysticism. In my opinion, the end of the year is mostly marked by cosiness and fun. However, it's also a time full of mysticism. And let it be I think I own a pair of tights that are the embodiment of mysticism: My Henry Holland tights! They give some exposure, but not to much; They are mysterious black, but there's also a gold detail on them; And last but not least.. They are perfect in combination with my new dress from Shoppalu. It's from their vintage section and it's officially a top, but it's big enough for me to wear it as a dress (which is a huge yaaaay! because I think it's even better as a dress).

Do you want to hear a good story? Or do you want a little perverse delight? If your answer to one of these questions is yes, than you absolutely have to read further. It's all about the incredible blue sturdy boots pictured below. I saw them a few weeks ago, and it was like love at first sight. I couldn't think about anything else and I had to buy them. So I did. I loaned the creditcard of a helpful colleague of my brother and I bought them. Well that ends well, you're probably thinking. But this was not the case. For some reason, the system crashed when I ordered the boots, and I received more than one order confirmation. I was freaked out, because the creditcard didn't belong to me. They took lots of money from the card and all I could do was ... freaking out, haha. Happily I found a very sweet girl when I called the customer service (Thank god they picked up the phone, because I was afraid it would be night in the USA because of the time lag between Holland and The States), who promised me to refund the amount I paid in excess and to send me just one pair. I still felt guilty because I caused the colleague of my brother so much trouble and I had sleepless nights untill we got the money back after just over one week (haha, it probably sounds like I'm a huuuuge dramaqueen. Actually, I guess I am).

To complete the story, I got a letter regarding the order last Friday. It stated the shoes were being held at a postoffice untill they received a letter with among others the invoice of the order from me. The wrote literally: If we won't receive your invoice quickly, the package will be destroyed. I was like O myyy gooosh DON'T DESTROY MY BLUE BABIES and I wrote a letter and I called the post office and so I saved their lives (haha). Finally, I received them today and after paying VAT and import duties to the postman (there was an incorrect invoice in the package so I had to pay much more than the amount should be..), I could embrace my JC blush boots.

And we'll live happily ever after.

The Russian

A faux fur hat or headband always reminds me of Russia. And even though I don't have Russian roots or something like that, I totally love the chic look and, probably even better, the warmth that such a headpiece provides. The cold hit us this weekend, so it was the perfect opportunity to wear mine for the first time. It's a gift from my grandmother, and I can't describe how happy I'm with it. I don't want to take it off anymore! So, let the trip to Moscow be reality soon. I'm ready for it.

Walking on golden shoes

Christmas shopping has to be done in an appropriate outfit, if you ask me. And do you think there's any color more appropriate to Christmas than gold? No, there isn't (if you ask me, again). I have to confess I changed my black lace-up boots into these little treasures after the shopping, but the reason for that was that I wanted to make my entrance with these shoes later on the day. Gorgeous shoes deserve a gorgeous entrance on a special occasion, don't you think?

The jacket I wore is from Vivi Clothes. They sell a diverse collection of clothes (and more), but I think this jacket suits my style the best. It's great for the party season, because the bow on the front makes it definitely an eye-catcher, but it's also appropriate as daily wear. Opinions, pleaaaase! :)

Woaa, I think I'm one of the few bloggers who doesn't wear vintage that much. Actually, it was the first time I wore vintage last Sunday. I got a package with amazing items from Shoppalu, and I couldn't wait to try the first item for a special visit I scheduled on the last day of the week. When I write 'the first item' I'm referring to the grey top. I really like the fact it's decorated with pearls, which makes the top very unique (I think uniqueness is one of the advantages of vintage clothing). It's also perfect in combination with the black cardigan I wore before in my latest outfitpost. Both the cardi ánd the skirt are from the party collection of Outfitters Nation.

Sleepless nights inspired me to make a sort of just-got-out-of-bed-hairdo. Unfortunately, it turned out to look horrible on the pictures! It looked OK in reallife but when I saw the pictures I honestly uttered a scream. Anyway, I want to show you the pictures, because I do like the outfit I wore. My mother got me these amazing leggings. I think they don't need much accompanying items/accessoiries to look great, so I combined them with only a simple loose draped t-shirt, ankle boots and my new cardi from Outfitters Nation. Love the subtle amount of sequins on the latter!

I'm so excited. I devised some great ideas for the blog today. I'll implement them before the end of the year, and I'm really curious whether you'll like it. But for now: The outfit I wore last Friday. It's funny for me to see this faux fur vest, because it has been in use for a very long time now. My mother and I bought it in the early days of 2005 (so almost seven years ago), so you can say we ran ahead of the trend for a number of years. After she wore it a couple of years, she allowed me to adjust it so that it would be fitting for me. I'm wearing the vest for three years now, and I still love it. It has proved to be a good investment. :)

I was totally into glamour last week. And what's better to get a glamorous look than a faux fur coat and wavy hair? I really like my renewed coat. I made some adjustments to it a couple of weeks ago, because I didn't like the collar it had. When my new coat arrived a few days back, I became crazyyyy. The color is even better than I expected and the faux fur collar looks really chic. I combined the coat with sparkling silver and black. Churches, cathedrals and castles always generate mysticism. The beautiful buildings have existed for centuries. Their walls have seen everything. To get you more "backstage" in my life, here's a post about some things I love at the moment. Firstly, the gemstone pendant necklaces from Dress Republic. I started with the amethyst pendant, then the orange calcite necklace followed and this week I decided it was time the green calcite one came to my home. They gold cuff in the second photo is also from Dress Republic. I promise I'll make outfitpictures with it soon. Are you craving all kinds of accessoiries too at the moment?

The last three pics are more based on beauty-stuff. I'm noticing I get more and more addicted to make-up and beauty products nowadays. The lipglosses and eyeshadows from the Estee Lauder make-up box are one of my favorites. I can predict there will be a lot of make-up on my Christmas wishlist hehe. ;)

Shiny blue pants

I think I've been a magpie (or a discoattendee from the 70s) in a previous life, because when I see shimmer, I go crazy. Therefore, no coincidence that I raid the shop assistant when the courier just delivered the new collection and I saw these beautiful shiny blue pants. They were perfect in combination with my new blackwhitesilver sweater. Actually, I wanted an oversized sweater with a huuuuge turtleneck in this pattern, but I think this one is really cool as well.

I outsmarted "the cold" this week several times: I battled him, dressed in chunky knits, warm leggings with print, boots, and thick scarves, so that he couldn't hurt me. My black leather overknee boots were great as a weapon against him, but today's outfit was also a good protection. The leggings I wore are from last year, but they are still one of my favorites and I was really pleased that I was able to wear them again. Another good thing about winter!

Walking in the fog

Last Monday was so foggy; it was beautiful to see. The mysticism was almost tangible. Adapted to the weather, I went outside with an outfit without bright colors. Sunday shopping outfit

Starting the day with listing all the positive things of life is a perfect way to feel happy the rest of the day.

Not a very spectacular post, but though I want to share my Sunday shopping outfit with you. I wore my new burgundy dress, which I totally love. I really like the fact its much longer than the other dresses I own. However, for this shopping trip I decided to wrap a belt (available here) around my waist, which resulted in a shorter dress. My hairstyle is also a simple creation. It consists of two braids (the left one bigger than the right one) and some clips. The past weeks, many of you asked me to do hair tutorials in the future. Honestly, I'd love to do this. The problem is.. I have to learn how to make clear movies about the creation of my hairstyles. I'm just trying different things, which result in the hairstyles you see on the blog. Beforehand, I don't have any idea what tactics I'll use or even what the result will be most of the time. So be patient. I promise I'll try to get my practice clear, and when I succeed in doing this, the tutorials will be on the blog somewhere this month or at least next month.

I guess one of the most eyecatching colors is electric blue, and it stands out even more when combined with black. The legwarmers were in my closet for years now, but I rediscovered them after receiving this gorgeous top (available here) last week. Obviously, I wanted to use different fabrics to create this duotone outfit, so that's why I choose the leatherlook leggings (available here), the leather boots and croco bag, and the military jacket. And about the hair: My hairdo is - as you can see - loose and messy on the one hand, and girly and elegant on the other hand. I think this combination provides the perfect flirty city girl look. Tutorial: Distressed jeans

When the lovely people of Outfitters Nation told me about their new campaign, I was immediately excited. It's called "Make Your Mark", and it's all about jeans and the way you can leave your adventures and experiences on them. All the jeans of the collection have a sandpaper attached, so that you can customize them in the way you want. I wanted to rip ánd bleach them (over-the-top, soooo totally me haha), but I couldn't find bleach anywhere in the house, so a DIY of a bleached jeans is still in the planning.

Sooo... HOW DO WE START?

Step 1 Buy a Outfitters Nation jeans here. I really recommend them , by the way. I've never worn such comfortable jeans (honestly).

Step 2 Choose the places you want to look pale and rub with sandpaper on those places (only horizontally, then there will be no hole but only a faded look)

Step 3 Choose the places in the pale areas you want to have ripped. On those places, you have to rub horizontally ánd vertically on the jeans. If you want to make holes, you obviously have to rub harder (or even pull the hole apart with your hands, like I did).

Step 4 And don't forget the edges of the pockets! It creates such a real distressed look.

Step 5 Almost done...

Step 6 Remove the fluff from the jeans (and clean your room, because probably everywhere will be substance)

Step 7 Done! To create a I-don't-care look, you can roll up the pipes.

The funniest fact about my eyes is that their color looks different depending on the color of my outfit. When I wore this mostly green outfit to lecture last Monday, they turned out really green. However, other times they want to be grey, blue or a colorful mix of grey green ánd blue at the same time. The look was inspired by my new green bag (available here). I chose to create a more casual look with jeans and a vest I tied together with a sparkling gold belt. The faux fur trimmed scarf is one of my favorites for autumn, so I'm really glad the time of the year allowed me to grab that one out of my closet again.

I love classic up hair, but probably I like spectacular curls (as you can see in the first picture of me) even more. Because I've got a weekend off these days (yeah!), I'm finally able to spend my time on searching for beautiful hairdos. I discovered ghd recently and I was immediately inspired. And even I own the most straight hair you can imagine, I wanted to share the new limited edition ghd styler Starlet with you. Perfect happiness is the result of a proces of growth. The road towards has some bumps and holes, but when you see a glimmer of hope despite all the troubles you're experiencing, your final destination will be paradisiacal.

I couldn't resist singing Christmas songs this morning. When I woke up I saw the gorgeous bright sky, and in combination with the ice cold weather it created an atmosphere that almost forced me to think about the lights, decorations, and songs associated with The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year. However, people would probably think I'm crazy when I would already bring up the Christmas tree in October, so my thoughts about the holidays are only expressed in the songs I hummed and in the colors of my outfit. In my opinion, black, dark blue, and especially the maroon-like color, are typically colors that are perfect for the colder days. And I have to say, I feel more than happy in these shades. My love for dark colors will always remain, I guess.

Completely black outfits are one of my favorites when the days become shorter and the temperature drops. Even though I think the weather was amazing today (the sun shone every hour), it was very cold. You can chase a butterfly all over the field and never catch it. But if you sit quietly in the grass, it will come and sit on your shoulder. Butterflies are self propelled flowers. I visited a butterfly garden with my grandparents a few years ago, and I honestly can say I was impressed because by all the beauty they radiate. The impressive color combinations on their tiny wings are more than gorgeous, and the transformation of a caterpillar to a butterfly is almost magical.

I received this cute dress with butterfly-print yesterday in my mailbox, and immediately the memories of me and my grandparents visiting the butterfly garden came to mind. I decided to wear it to my lectures today, and I combined it with my new little bag, a loose knitted cardigan and my suede wedges.

Those who are following me via Twitter too, probably have seen I was a little annoyed because I didn't have the time to post this outfit yesterday. But here the pictures finally are! When I think of an outfit that consists of only red and black, two words are always in my head: vamp and fire. It's sort of a natural reaction my brains have, because I can't exactly identify and/or explain why those are the first words that come to my mind. I think it has something to do with the sensual look these colors have together. Anyway, I like red ánd I like black, so I like the combi of them.

The foundation of the outfit is my new bangle from Dress Republic. I discovered the Euniqyou oriental jewelry collection on their site and I was immediately obsessed with all those little treasures. They are exclusively hand-made, and this one is covered with Swarovski crystal gems as well.

Two good things at the same point in time is definitely called a brilliant mix. My brilliant mix is the combination of sun and a chic occasion. At the first moment, I thought the sequined top and the skirt would look a bit messy together, but I really like the result. It looks like a dress, even though it consists of two separate parts.
